PA Governor Proposes Additional $1.9 Billion In Education Funding
Governor Wolf stopped at a Wilke-Barre area high school today to push for an additional $1.9 billion in education funding across Pennsylvania. According to a Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE) press release, Governor Wolf is asking Congress to approve an additional $1.9 billion investment in pre-K- college education funding for Pennsylvania. If passed, the record-breaking sum will push education spending to the highest levels in Pennsylvania history.

Washington County-Johnson City EMS is the recipient of the 2022 State Star of Life Award. The Northeast Tennessee ambulance and rescue agency responded to an auto accident nearly a year ago where David Keller's vehicle left the roadway and was caught by a tree to keep it from careening down a 65 foot embankment. The EMS and Rescue team worked tirelessly to extricate Keller using high angle and vehicle rescue techniques in one of the most unusual situations faced in Tennessee.
Senate Passes Bundle of Voter Access Legislation

As voter access and worries of disenfranchisement continue to worry the nation, the New York State Senate has passed a large bundle of laws to combat these concerns. Included in the legislative package are bills S.557, which amends election law to permit counties the choice to create two or more locations for portable polling places for early voting, S.492 which lets local Board of Elections establish absentee ballot drop-off locations, and S.253 which entails the canvassing of paper ballots when the express intentions of the voter are unambiguous.
