The historic Landers Theatre: home to the Springfield Little Theatre, special events, and old legends
The Landers Theatre is located at 311 N. Walnut in Springfield, Missouri (Greene County). The theatre was built in 1909 and if it’s not the oldest theatre in Missouri, it’s one of them. The theatre that used to be on the same site was the Baldwin Theatre. That theatre was destroyed by fire in the same year the Landers Theatre was constructed.

On May 5, 2000, the Marquette Hotel located in Springfield, Missouri was listed on the National Register of Historic Places. This building is also known as Springfield Business College and Hotel State. The three-story hotel was built around 1906. Originally, a business college was here, and in 1918, it was converted into a hotel and operated as such until the mid-1980s.

In 1984, the Keet-McElhany House was added to the National Register of Historic Places. The house is located in Springfield, Missouri. The architectural designs of this two-story house include Italianate and Queen Anne. The house was constructed in 1881. In 1886, it was enlarged and in 1900, some remodeling took place.

In 2002, when the Heer's Department Store building was nominated to be listed on the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP), the building was vacant. The building was constructed in 1915. and the architectural firm was Opel & Torbitt. It was the largest commercial building in this area.

The Gottfried Furniture Company Building located at 326 Boonville Avenue in Springfield, Missouri was built in about 1890. It's a historic three-story, rectangular building. The architectural style is Late Victorian. It was originally a red-painted brick building. The unique design of this building makes it vibrant with character and very attractive. In 2007, the building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places. At the time of the nomination of this historical building to be added to the register, it was vacant.

It's also known as the Museum of the Ozarks. Construction of this house began in 1892. The architectural style is Queen Anne. It's a two-and-a-half-story brick structure that served as a family dwelling until 1964. From 1965 to 1977, the house served as a dormitory for Drury College. Lastly, it was home to the Museum of the Ozarks for several years.
