It's clear the NFL Pro Bowl needs fixing. Of all the top professional sports leagues, it's fair to say the NFL has the worst "All-Star Game," which is sad considering it's the top league. So, for fear the Pro Bowl may be scrapped altogether, the NFL is willing to listen to changes to make the Pro Bowl better.
Fantasy Football 101: Lions’ Amon-Ra St. Brown had a 78% catch rate last season
Are you looking for a solid wide receiver that you could draft in the later rounds of you fantasy football draft this season? If you are, Lions’ Amon-Ra St. Brown could be the guy for you. The Detroit Lions have disappointed their fan base for decades, but they finally seem to have a collection of players that could actually give their fan base some hope. On of those players is wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown, who had a 78% catch rate last season (3rd amongst all wide receivers. That catch percentage should indicate how much St. Brown could be targeted this season. Because Detroit could be a surprise team competing for a playoff spot in the NFC, assume the Lions are going to do everything they can to get all their playmakers involved in the game plan. St. Brown’s ability to be so reliable should give Lions’ quarterback Jared Goff a lot of faith to throw him the football. In this video, I talk about why St. Brown is a good fantasy pick.
Patriots ‘ecstatic’ by Mac Jones in offseason workouts
Mac Jones was the 15th overall pick in the 2021 Draft, and Bill Belichick found the perfect quarterback for the New England Patriots. Reports have emerged this week that Jones’s Patriots teammates are thrilled with the second year quarterbacks’ approach to the offseason.
Patriots’ Kendrick Bourne had third Highest passer rating generated when targeted on third down
For years’ New England Patriots’ fans were able to watch Tom Brady connect with Julian Edelman in the most crucial times. Edelman is now a year into retirement, and Brady is a Tampa Bay Buccaneer. Last season the Patriots officially entered into the Mac Jones era, and New England’ fans should be excited to watch the connection between Jone and wide receiver kendrick Bourne. According to PFF, Bourne recorded the third highest quarterback rating when being targeted on third down. That’s a significant stat as Bourne and Jones continue to build chemistry. In this video, I discuss why that type of stat also won’t be lost on the Patriots’ coaching staff. As the 2021 NFL season rolled on, we saw Kendrick Bourne become more involved in the Patriots game plan. Watch this video and listen to me discuss why the offseason was so important for Bourne, and why I believe he’s going to be a huge part of the Patriots game plan this season.
MLB Racism Controversy: Tim Anderson, Jackie Robinson, and the Suspension of Josh Donaldson
Major League Baseball suspends Josh Donaldson for referring to Tim Anderson as “Jackie.”. A May, 2019 article from Bleacher Report, “Tim Anderson Says He Feels Like 'Today's Jackie Robinson' Amid Tension with MLB,” stated the following: On Tuesday, Stephanie Apstein of Sports Illustrated provided comments from Anderson, who said he wants to knock down MLB's ’have-fun barrier.’ "I kind of feel like today's Jackie Robinson," he said. "That's huge to say. But it's cool, man, because he changed the game, and I feel like I'm getting to a point to where I need to change the game."
One of Houston's richest people just made a $50 million donation
I have recently written about the generosity of several of Houston's richest people. The richest person in Houston, Richard Kinder, has promised to give away 95% of his wealth. David Weekley, the founder of David Weekley Homes, signed the Giving Pledge and has donated millions of dollars to Houston organizations. And John and Laura Arnold were the biggest philanthropists in Houston last year, donating $210 million to various organizations.
Fantasy 101: Rams’ Matthew Stafford was the only QB with 50 passing TDs last season
Fantasy football drafts are coming fast and furious, and that’s leaving fantasy owners trying to figure out who they should take at quarterback. Los Angeles Rams’ Matthew Stafford is one of the most interesting candidates on the market. He’s coming off a huge season that saw him and the Rams win the Super Bowl. But does that mean he’s the best choice for fantasy? In this video, I explain why I believe there are better options than Stafford when choosing your next quarterback. If you were just trying to build a team to win the Super Bowl, then Stafford is your guy. So don’t get it twisted, I’m not saying Stafford is a bad quarterback. I’m just saying that there are better fantasy options. Guys like Russell Wilson and Dak Prescott are better second tier quarterbacks than Matthew Stafford. Watch the video and hear all the reasons I won’t be drafting Mathew Stafford this season.
Patriots players are “alarmed” by the team’s offensive coaching staff
I don’t think it should surprise anybody that the New England Patriots’ players are questioning Bill Belichick’s decision to task Joe Judge and Matt Patricia to lead the Patriots offense. In this video, I discuss why I’m not surprised New England’s players aren’t happy. Greg Bedard was the first to report this and usually I don’t agree with anything Bedard has to say about the Patriots, but this time we’re on the same page. Both Judge and Patricia were failed head coaches, and though both had success as coordinators with New England (Patricia: Defensive Coordinator, and Judge: Special Teams Coordinator), I don’t have a lot of faith in either guy leading the Patriots offense. Belichick always seems to do things that don’t make sense to most of us, and this is one of those moments. Watch this video and hear everything that I have to say about this story.
Running & Financial Privilege
I was twelve when I started running. My first running shoes were a heavy pair of grey and black Nikes with those weird shock absorber things in the heels. I eventually upgraded to Asics, until I went to college and had to wear Adidas, per the athletic department. Since graduating, I've run almost exclusively in Altra's because I enjoy the zero drop feature alongside the more natural, wide toe box.
Packers Compare Practice Squad WR to Davante Adams
This offseason saw the Green Bay Packers part ways with both Davante Adams and Marquez Valdes-Scantling, leaving the wide receiver room looking a bit empty. After passing on the more NFL-ready prospects in the NFL Draft and signing the often-injured Sammy Watkins, there are many question marks regarding the Packers wide receiver corps. However, in a recent interview, Packers receiver Juwann Winfree says there isn't anything to worry about, in a unique way.
