French Onion Soup- At Home Recipe- Delicious, Classic Soup with a Few Twists!
Stephanie asked Brian to make French onion soup in our New Years' Eve dining review at The Vineyard. Some of our subscribers joined in and asked that he do it as well. Well, Brian came through, in a big way! He took a classic French onion soup and added some different types of onions to make it even more delicious! This recipe did take 2 days to make due to putting the broth in the fridge overnight to get the fat off the top, but can be done in one day if you would like to skim the fat off and not wait. Give it a try and let us know how it turns out! #frenchonionsoup #onionmedly #athomecooking Ingredients Used- water, salt, black pepper, beef ribs, sherry, yellow onions, fennel, shallots, leeks, white wine vinegar, garlic, butter, sourdough bread, parmesan cheese, gruyere cheese, bay leaf Be sure to follow us on Instagram- https://www.instagram.com/nobseateries/
Spicy Poblano Shrimp Bisque- At Home Recipe- Another Great Comfort Soup!
So Brian had the idea to make a lobster bisque. Lobster was $40 a pound and that is just insanity. He did the next best thing... a shrimp bisque. Now we know that Stephanie isn't the biggest seafood lover, but hear us out. There is no shrimp or fishy flavor in this bisque. It does have a little kick, which is why we say the jalapenos are optional. This is perfect for a cool night, or if you're feeling like a good creamy soup. Sidenote- Stephanie apologizes in advance for her appearance. Work from home life is a real thing and she did not know her on-camera services were going to be needed for the making of this video. #shrimpbisque #cookingvlog #athomerecipe Ingredients used- shrimp, carrots, celery, thyme, bay leaves, salt, black pepper, yellow onions, green onions, garlic, parsley, poblano peppers, jalapenos, vegetable oil, butter, all-purpose flour, heavy whipping cream, white wine, tarragon, tomato paste Be sure to follow us on Instagram- https://www.instagram.com/nobseateries/
Cold weather and soup, a perfect combo!
When winter rolls around we need soup to warm up our tummy. Last night's dinner was salmon, shrimp, potatoes, tomatoes, red onion and vegetables freshly picked from the backyard garden - mustard spinach, bok choy, tatsoi, joi choi, purple Osaka mustard and purple pak choy.
Chicken soup with spinach and lemon from the garden
This hearty chicken soup, a Filipino-style chicken soup we call "tinola" is perfect on a cold winter night. The arsenal: crushed garlic, chopped onion, sliced ginger, chicken thighs and wings, chayote sliced into bite size pieces, a pinch of salt, a good cracking of black peppercorns, freshly picked spinach and lemon from the backyard edible garden. Slurp, slurp... yum!
