Top 5 Ways to Show Support for World Water Day on March 22 In Washington, D.C.
If you’re having as hard a time keeping track of all the different secular holidays like we are, you may not have heard of World Water Day. For the uninitiated, World Water Day is an internationally recognized day every March 22, that celebrates water, and raises awareness of the roughly 2 billion people in the world who don’t have access to safe water. In fact, scientists project that by 2050, as many as 5.7 billion people could face this water scarcity for at least one month of the year. There is a lot we, as more fortunate people, can do to help, but here are just 5 of the ways we can do so:
Cold Front Moving over the West Coast Causing Winds and Light Showers
Starting Wednesday afternoon, a fast-moving cold front will bring gusty conditions, followed by a period of light snow showers Wednesday night into early Thursday morning, according to the National Weather Service.

Cold Weather and Showers Expected for Spokane
In the next days, a weather system is expected to move into the region, bringing mostly mountain snow to the area, with light showers or flurries elsewhere. At the same time, an arctic front will come into the region from the northeast, bringing chilly gusty winds to much of the country. Wednesday is forecast to be chilly and breezy in the morning.

Showers Expected in Seattle for the Weekend
A few showers are expected to pass over southwest Washington late this afternoon. Through the weekend and into Monday, the weather will remain dry. A northerly flow will be present above, resulting in a little warming of the air mass, but high temperatures will likely not rise beyond the mid-50s, and low temperatures will be mostly in the 30s, with a little frost possible in the locations that do achieve clear skies at night.
Cold Weather and Showers Forecast for Central Texas
Today will be mostly overcast and cold, with the possibility of a few light showers sprinkled throughout the day. A compact shortwave, which is now over southeast New Mexico early this morning, will move eastward over the region today, according to the National Weather Service.
Snow Showers Expected for Seattle Today
Isolated snow showers are expected this morning as a result of a weak upper-level disturbance. This afternoon, the system will be decommissioned. Dry conditions are expected tonight, with an upper-level ridge dominating the region.
Intense Rain showers Expected; Possible Thunderstorms in the South
Warmer air is still in, and a front is expected to pass over our area on Thursday afternoon. On Friday, this front will move southward into the Southeast and Gulf Coast states, ahead of another low-pressure system and related front arriving the following weekend.
Heavy Showers & Thunderstorms Expected on the West Coast This Weekend
Weather conditions will be unsettled across the region, with intervals of rain expected through Sunday morning. This morning's snow levels will stay high, but they will decrease dramatically overnight and through Saturday morning.
Snow Showers Expected for New York Tonight
Up to an inch of lake effect snow is anticipated throughout parts of Central New York until tonight. Several mild disturbances will move across the area throughout the rest of the week, bringing the possibility of scattered snow showers with them.
Cold Weather Forecasted for the Northeast; Showers of Rain Expected on Christmas Day
This evening, expect a very cold night away from the coast, with isolated ocean effect snow showers or flurries likely throughout Cape Cod and the Islands. Mainly dry weather is predicted Monday through Tuesday, while a coastal low-pressure system moving far to our south may bring isolated showers and thunderstorms south and east of Interstate 95 on Wednesday and Thursday.
