The hike to Hawksbill Mountain is among the most popular hikes at Shenandoah National Park thanks to the relatively short distance to reach the park’s highest point. The Hawsbill Summit trail is the shortest at 1.6 miles but it is pretty steep. The views at the top are incredible. Lewis Falls Trail is a short, 3.5-mile hike to an 81 foot tall waterfall in the Shenandoah National Park. Lewis Spring Falls is a hike leading to the fourth tallest waterfall in the park. It starts out from the Big Meadows amphitheater. Keep an eye out for wildlife on this trail. We spotted a beautiful owl. This is a great trail with amazing views of the Blueridge Mountains out beyond a beautiful cascading waterfall. 5 Hikes in Shenandoah National Park with the Best Views. There are two routes for Bearfence Mountain. One contains a rock scramble with 360 degree views and the other takes you to the viewpoint without the rock scramble. Both trails start at the parking lot. The Rock Scramble hike is 1.4 miles roundtrip. The Viewpoint hike is 1.1 miles roundtrip. There will be a fork shortly into the trail. Continue straight for the rock scramble or go right for the viewpoint.

If you are looking for one of the most scenic hikes in Virginia check out Little Stony Man. It is just off of Skyline Drive. In less than .5 miles, you will reach the rocky outcrop of Little Stony Man. For a more challenging trek, you can continue on to Stoney Man. Either way it is a great little hike with beautiful views. Stony Man Trail is one of the easiest yet most rewarding hikes right off Skyline Drive in Shenandoah National Park. At 4011 feet, Stony Man is the second-highest mountain in Shenandoah National Park. Despite its height, the summit is very easy to reach on a 1.6-mile roundtrip hike with only 400 feet of elevation gain. Bearfence Mountain is a great short hike off Skyline Drive in Shenandoah National Park.
