A continuation of the wet and stormy weather that has been prevalent over the Southwest and the southern Rockies for the last few days is anticipated to begin the workweek with further showers and thunderstorms.
Two Cooling Centers Are Now Open in Dallas

The heat has finally arrived in Dallas and some residents are left living in apartments without central air conditioning. The city of Dallas is helping those in need by opening up multiple cooling centers around the area. Dallas News reports that one center is located at the West Dallas Multipurpose Center.
Severe Weather Threat in KC on Thursday?
There is a weather phenomenon that can happen what are called “cold core systems.” According to Fox 4 meteorologist Joe Lauria from his weather blog:. In an idealized world, these systems can help to bring more robust updrafts and convection. Because the freezing level is about two miles up in the atmosphere Thursday afternoon, it doesn’t take much vertical development of clouds to get rain drops to get thrust upwards into that colder air, where they can freeze up and create small hailstones. Sometimes these hailstones fall to the ground.
