Meghan Markle has won the defamation lawsuit filed by her half-sister, Samantha, after the judge dismissed the case brought before the court. Samantha Markle, in her defamation lawsuit against the Duchess of Sussex, expected her half-sister to admit 38 different things during her deposition. She also wanted Meghan to retract comments she made about the royal family and acknowledge that she lied about her upbringing during her interview with Oprah Winfrey in order to support a "rags-to-royalty" narrative.

Samantha Markle's defamation lawsuit against her half-sister, Meghan, has been dismissed by a Florida judge. The estranged sibling had accused the former 'Suits actress of spreading "malicious lies" about her in an interview with Oprah Winfrey in 2021 and in the couple's biography, 'Finding Freedom.' However, on Thursday (30.03.23), US District Judge Charlene Edwards Honeywell ruled that Meghan's statements were simply opinions and “not capable of being proved false.”

The case revolves around a libel suit filed by Samantha against Meghan, with Samantha seemingly more interested in garnering media attention to embarrass her more successful sibling than actually winning the case.
