According to the latest figures from the Iowa Health Care Association (IHCA), 17 nursing homes have shut their doors in the past year, with 15 closures occurring in rural parts of the state. I moved to a small town in the late 90s and would soon learn that the sleepy little town I had moved to wasn’t as sleepy as it appeared.
