“Aaron Donald says he'll return if Rams bring back Odell Beckham, Von Miller”
Kevin Patra - NFL.com: “Ahead of Super Bowl LVI, rumors flew that three-time Defensive Player of the Year Aaron Donald could retire if the Los Angeles Rams hoisted the Lombardi Trophy. - Later, TMZ tracked down Donald in his car and asked him if he truly was coming back for another run. "I'm gonna enjoy the moment. We bring everybody back, I'm back," Donald responded. "Odell Beckham, Von Miller, we bring them guys back, let's make it happen." - It's clear from Donald's comments that he has considered walking away on top, but the thrill of winning a Super Bowl seems to have tamed those thoughts. He just wants to make sure the Rams are indeed getting the gang back together to take another shot at a ring.”
“Rams’ Super Bowl win was a fitting end to a mediocre 2021 NFL season”
Ben Volin - The Boston Globe Super Bowl LVI was a fitting end to the 2021 NFL season. It was an enjoyable season, providing a nice distraction from the pandemic. But it won’t go down as one of the best seasons. - There were no dominant teams. The top teams in the AFC went 12-5 and in the NFC 13-4. It marked the first time since 2014, and just the fourth time since 1990, that no team won 80 percent of its games. Both No. 1 seeds lost at home in the divisional round. The Super Bowl matchup seemed like the result of a randomizer, with both No. 4 seeds reaching the game for the first time. - Overall, it wasn’t the crispest season. Scoring dropped from 49.6 points per game last season to 46.0. Considering that the NFL continually makes the rules easier for offense, the drop in production is noteworthy. Penalties increased from 11.2 to 11.8 per game and from 97 to 102 yards per game. There also was a striking number of blowouts in the regular season — 53 games decided by at least 21 points
