On this episode of Fishing with Lance I catch and release rainbow trout with an underwater camera.

While fishing a local creek with spinners, I ran into some super quality fish including this very nice rainbow trout!

This will be the last urban pond trout fishing video for a while! I decided to make one more trip out and use the good old powerbait. Love it or hate it, powerbait is probably the best bait for trout. Arizona urban trout fishing has been amazing this season. For only living here for one year, we sure caught our fair share of stocked rainbow trout. By far the most effective method for catching them this season has been powerbait. The best colors for us were definitely pink and green garlic. The scent on it is unbeatable! Never underestimate the classic powerbait. Arizona trout fishing will continue for us on the salt river, and up north. Until next year stocked pond trout!

Urban Arizona trout fishing is slowly coming to a close! The last stocking will take place next week, then that will be it for the urban ponds until next winter! Go get some Arizona trout locally while you still can! Today we actually targeted catfish along with our trout, and ended up catching a huge red ear sunfish as well! Powerbait was the hot bait for catching keepers, although the small trout magnet worked like a mini jig caught the most fish. Arizona trout fishing season has been amazing for us this year, and as we wind down get ready for some more canal content! Only a month or so until the ponds begin the catfish stock!

We finally did a long over due catch and cook of the stocked rainbow trout here in the urban ponds. It tasted delicious! After a pretty hot morning of fishing action, we cooked up one of our stocked rainbow trout on the little cast iron pan. We seasoned the fish with an array of flavorings and it was amazing. All our fish this day were caught on powerbait except for 2 of them. These stocked pond trout aren’t too big into the lures. At least it is pretty rare when they are. Desert trout fishing is continuing here in the valley for the next month or so! Go get your trout while you can!
