Queen Elizabeth changes this before she died by announcing that her daughter-in-law would be referred to as Queen Consort when Charles ascended the throne. Now Yahoo News is confirming what many people already believed. Once the King has his coronation his wife will officially become Queen Camilla.

Camilla's family may not have wanted her to marry into the royal family. For decades there have been rumors that Prince Charles (Now King Charles II) loved Camilla Shand-Parker Bowles but was pressured to marry Lady Diana Spencer because he was 30 years old and needed to produce an heir and a spare for the kingdom. According to Yahoo News, several royal experts and biographers are giving details of what allegedly went on behind the scenes and how the royal family and Camilla's kin folk interfered to keep the couple apart.

There were rumors that King Charles III would never ascend to the throne because Queen Elizabeth II would never abdicate. It was also said that the Queen had made plans to bypass her son and name Prince William as heir but now Charles is the reigning monarch and planning his coronation on May 6. It was initially stated that his wife Camilla Parker Bowles would never be Queen and would be referred to as Princess Consort but Elizabeth II later announced that her daughter-in-law would become Queen Consort which is the term for women who marry a king but are not born into royalty.
