The Krewe of Bacchus announced that actor, comedian, and screenwriter Adam Devine will reign as King Bacchus LIV next month. Devine moved to Los Angeles in 2006 and started his career working as a stand-up comedian. His breakout movie role came in the 2012 comedy, Pitch Perfect for which Devine was nominated at the Teen Choice Awards for both Choice Movie Breakout and Choice Movie Villain. The Pitch Perfect star has appeared in numerous television shows, films as well as music videos. He was one of the stars, co-creators and producers of the Comedy Central series Workaholics. In 2016, Devine was nominated for his Workaholics role for a People's Choice Award for Favorite Cable TV Actor and in 2017, he was nominated for an MTV Movie and TV award for Best Comedic Performance. He was also the host of Adam Devine's House Party. Devine is currently working on the Netflix film, "The Out-Laws" with Pierce Brosnan, Ellen Barkin and Nina Dobrev.

January 6th is known as the Christian holiday, Epiphany but since the 1900's, in New Orleans it is also known as the official start of the Carnival season. Celebrations last until Mardi Gras Day or "Fat Tuesday" in French, which is the day before Ash Wednesday and the start of lent. Fat Tuesday refers the ritualistic eating of unhealthy foods and meat before the traditional days of fasting that accompany the season of Lent. The date of Mardi Gras actually changes every year, depending on what date Easter falls on. With the earliest being on February 3rd and latest on March 9th.

Tulane's head coach Willie Fritz, who was named 2022 AAC Coach of the Year will reign as the Grand Marshal of the Endymion parade in New Orleans on Saturday, February 18th, 2023. Endymion's president Dan Kelly made the announcement on Tuesday afternoon. "With Tulane going to the Cotton Bowl, and coach Fritz staying (as head coach), we were pleased to extend the invite for coach Fritz as Grand Marshal.” Endymion was founded in 1967 and named after the Olympian god of fertility and eternal youth, it is the largest krewe in Mardi Gras history. The parade traditionally rolls on the Saturday before Mardi Gras and is followed by a mega party, known as the Extravaganza.

For the second year in a row, Mardi Gras krewes in New Orleans will roll on a shortened parade route due to a shortage of NOPD officers. All krewes will load up their floats and disband in the same spots.

The Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade is awesome! We were lucky enough last year to have been able to finally see it in person!
