The Taco Garage's Tacos & Trucks At Fish Creek Wash
We set out for Anza Borrego's Fish Creek Wash to check out The Taco Garage's First Annual Tacos and Trucks event. What a fun day trip on a Saturday in the beautiful desert. What more could you ask for in an adventure...Tacos, Trucks, and Trails!
Exploring Anza Borrego's Culp Valley
Sometimes the best #adventures are not at all what you had originally planned. These kind of trips are just like life, full of the unexpected. We have been MIA for a bit, and it sure felt great to be back out on trail for another #OpenRoad4Two adventure. Although we didn't get to do what we originally had planned, we had an amazing time and look forward to the next one. Culp Valley is a beautiful area filled with lots of nature, history, and great trails.
Hanging Out At The Rigs & Brews Overland Meet-Up
If you are looking for a great overland and off-road community, check out an event by Rigs & Brews. This one was held at Pure Project Brewing in Vista, CA. Each Rigs & Brews event gets an amazing turn out with a wide range of vehicles in attendance.
TJ Tacos in North County
In our second episode of Taco Running, Open Road 4Two headed to North County, more specifically Escondido, to check out TJ Tacos! In this review we tailgated with some of their carne asada and adobada tacos. Check out our review to see how their tacos rank on the Tacos El Gordo Scale!
TinyFest-San Diego 2022
TinyFest celebrates tiny living, van conversions, and more! As overlanders we have always been interested in the tiny house movement and the philosophy of living with less stuff and having more experiences. This event was held at the Del Mar Fair Grounds on March 12 & 13, 2022. TinyFest has many more events planned, so be sure to check out their website for an event near you.
Taco Running - In Search of the Best Tacos!
In this new series we are Taco Running. We are hitting the Open Road in search of the best taco spots throughout Southern California and beyond. We hit up Tacos El Gordo, who in our opinion, serve up some incredible adobada tacos. If you have a favorite spot, let us know! We would love to check it out.
Primitive Camping at St. George, Utah's Red Cliffs
Have you experienced primitive camping? On this adventure, we headed to Southern Utah to explore the Red Cliffs National Conservation Area and call the Sand Cove Primitive Campground home for the night. To camp at this location a permit is required, which can be obtained online or at the local BLM field office. A high-clearance 4WD vehicle is strongly recommend to access the primitive camping area. The Red Cliffs NCA trails were scenic and the landscape was amazing. The area is a great location for a day trip or overnight adventure.
Taking the Pioneertown to Big Bear Off Road Trail for the First Time
The point-to-point trail from Pioneertown to Big Bear is also known as 2NO2 or Burns Canyon. This is an 18.7 mile trail, which is usually heavily trafficked. Along the route you will encounter different types of terrain including sand, washboard, and rocks. On this trip we were joined by our friends who mapped out some side trails for us to explore and it turned out to be quite the adventure. Note: Both of our Tacomas are 4WD and high-clearance.
Overlanding Southern Utah Back to California
This is Part Two of our #OverlandJourney through parts of Arizona, Utah, and back to California. If you didn't catch Part 1, be sure to check it out where we highlight Vermilion Cliffs National Monument and White Pocket. On this part of the trip, we discovered some of the most beautiful and historic dispersed camping. The first location rewarded us with one of the most beautiful sunsets and jaw dropping sunrises. The other was taking us back in time to and old homestead during the boom of mining claims. Have you come across an epic campsite? Leave a comment below. How to Choose An Overlanding Vehicle
What is the best overlanding vehicle, Easy answer - EarthRoamer! EarthRoamer, is the best overlanding vehicle! Wow, we are good at this! Next question please. All kidding aside, an EarthRoamer may be the best overlanding vehicle money can buy, but only if you have about $750k to buy one.
Airing Down/Airing Up for Off Road Adventures
In this video we share how we #airdown for our #offroading and #overlandadventures. Like everything else about off-roading, it just depends on what you’re running, what you’re doing. How much you air down will depend on your tires and many other things, so you may have to use trial and error until you get a feel for how it works. When done the right way, airing down can definitely give you an advantage over driving on fully-inflated tires and give you a much more comfortable ride on your adventure off road!
Anza Borrego Coyote Canyon | Sheep Canyon Camping
In this video we take our daughter out on the #openroad to explore Anza Borrego's off road trail #coyotecanyon and do some primitive camping in #sheepcanyon. The trail is fairly easy but we recommend a high clearance 4WD vehicle due to soft sand, rocks, and water crossings.
