When I was a kid I loved to Ski here. I have many great memories of Squaw Valley now called Palisades Tahoe, a ski resort in the western United States, located in Olympic Valley, California, northwest of Tahoe City in the Sierra Nevada range. From its founding 73 years ago in 1949 until 2021, the resort was known as Squaw Valley but changed its name due to the derogatory meaning of squaw to Native Americans and their allies. It was the host site for the 1960 Winter Olympics.

Erin Jackson made history on February 13 when she won a gold medal after competing in the Women's 500m speed skating event at the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics. The 29 year old became the first African-American woman to do so and the second black athlete to win an individual Olympic medal in any speed skating event.

The 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing, China are underway. Team USA has gained ground in the gold medal count, behind only Norway and Germany, who are tied at 8. As for overall medal count, the Americans have some work to do, currently being tied for sixth.

The 16-year-old was born in Clovis but grew up skating at the St. Moritz Ice Skating Club, or the Oakland Ice Center as it's now called. While she currently trains in Colorado Springs she still represents her home club.

The 2022 Beijing Olympics are set to start Friday, February 4th. Around 2900 athletes will compete this year. This is my first time snowboarding and Canyon Ski Resort really impressed me. I started to get better and better throughout the day, but unfortunately had difficulties restoring those clips, but hopefully you can get a grasp on the resort and how beautiful it really is!
