Check out Kennesaw Mountain's Backside for a Diverse, Challenging Hike
Thousands of people hike or walk up the main trails to Kennesaw Mountain each week for the exercise and the views from the summit. But have you checked out Kemo's backside, a shapely, well-rounded, and beautiful natural attraction often unseen and unappreciated by those drawn to KeMo’s more recognizable and oft-visited full-frontal approach?

So if you are visiting these areas in Utah, please take caution and remember to check the NPS website for closing and opening updates. So today, I am taking you on a brief road trip through this beautiful park full of geological wander and hidden treasures! Welcome to Capitol Reef National Park in Utah!

We hiked down into the Hoodoos and it was one of the hardest hikes we have done this far but it was so worth the views. You hike down into the canyon and then back up. It has some flat parts but definitely is more of an up hill hike. If you are up for a 3 mile hike then this is one you must do. If you are traveling with little kids stop by the visitor center to get a Junior Ranger packet, finish it and then get their badge. Our kid loves getting her badge. National Parks in the USA
We have been to several National Parks in the USA and around the world. We love National Parks. Amongst the variety of outdoor adventures you can embark on, the reasons to love national parks are endless – they are educational, full of mysteries and provide spiritual inspiration. When you visit a National Park, not only are you exploring new territories, but you become open to new discoveries…in nature, life, and in yourself. Being outdoors in wide-open spaces can spark creativity, and inspire you to imagine unlimited possibilities. I am looking forward to my next visit to the National Parks.
Grand Teton National Park Guide
The Must See and Must Do in Grand Teton National Park. There are a handful of ways to get to Grand Teton National Park, but with the park being a bit far from any major city, it’s definitely not the easiest park to get to. The closest option is the Jackson Hole Airport, which American Airlines, Delta, United, and SkyWest fly in and out of.
These unique and amazing spots from Yellowstone National Park will take your breath away
Unfortunately, I learned recently about the flooding, evacuations, and temporary closings in Yellowstone National Park. Gardiner is where we stayed during our Yellowstone trip in 2019. I am just saddened to see this happening to such a precious place on earth. Anyway, I just wanted to share with you some of my favorite spots that we found to be pretty neat while exploring Yellowstone. Please enjoy. Please check the national park website for updates regarding park closures. Scramble through this national park full of spires, caves, condors, and bats
Rising up high along what is known as the Ring of Fire and out of the Gabilan Mountains, you will find the remains of an ancient volcano. As a result of millions of years of highly active volcanic activity and erosion; spires and monoliths protruded from the earth. This is Pinnacles National Park. Camping, condors, and caves are the primary attraction to this national park. It was designated as a full national park in 2013. It is also home to the extremely endangered California condor and other wildlife including the bobcat. You will find Balconies Cave and Bear Gulch Cave located in separate areas of the park. These caves were formed as a result of earthquake and volcanic activity causing large boulders to fall. The boulders fell into narrow gorges and became stuck between the rock walls. There are two bat colonies that house themselves these two caves. Explore more, worry less. I know your time is valuable, so I sincerely thank you for coming along this journey!
Have You Heard About The Hoh Rainforest?
Most people know about the Amazon, the world's largest tropical rain forest. However there are several lesser-known rain forests, such as the Hoh Rain Forest. Most people know Seattle's reputation for being rainy ALL the time. Seattle gets around 36 INCHES of rain a year compared to the Hoh Rain Forest which gets 14 FEET of rain a year. Wow! Its unique ecosystem has remained unchanged for thousands of years and it is now the most carefully preserved rain forest in the northern hemisphere.
The Historic Frijole Ranch & Manzanita Spring at Guadalupe Mountains National Park
This area of Guadalupe Mountains National Park was such a surprise! A beautifully preserved ranch constructed in the 1800's. The Frijole Ranch Museum is open seasonally, when staff or volunteers are available. This property includes the old school house and a spring house that was used to house and protect the spring. This area also includes a short 1/2 mile walk to Manzanita Spring showed in this video. Please note that this area along with all trails at Guadalupe Mountains National Park are currently closed due to the extreme fire risk. We visited in March. Put this on your list for a cooler time of year when the fire restrictions are lifted.
Guadalupe Mountains National Park: Part 2
In Part 2 of this series from Guadalupe Mountains National Park we hike to the Pine Springs Campground from the Visitors Center, and explore the trailhead up towards Guadalupe Peak. We did not complete the hike to the peak as there were other parts of the park we wanted to explore. Guadalupe Peak is the highest point in Texas at 8751'. There are several trails you can explore from this area.
