The New Orleans Saints have a decision to make this offseason on the future of star WR Michael Thomas. The Saints are tight on salary cap space and Thomas has a huge cap hit. That wouldn’t be an issue if Thomas was playing like he has in the past, but he’s played less than a quarter of the Saints’ games in the past 2 seasons due to injury. Today in sports history, New Orleans Saints wide receiver Michael Thomas broke the NFL’s single-season reception record. With his 144th catch of the season, Thomas broke Marvin Harrison’s 17-year old record. The Saints would go on to beat the Tennessee Titans, 38-28.
