Will the city of Chicago have a new Mayor, or will Lori Lightfoot win a second term?. The political scene in Chicago has taken over the city once again, with flyers, posters, advertisements, and even emails being sent out to residents from mayoral candidates and their teams.

This part of the Chicago Resilient Communities Pilot is meant to help people with adult dependents that missed the federal stimulus money. (CHICAGO) Eligible Chicago residents can apply for a $500 one-time cash payment.

The payment will be given out to eligible residents through the Chicago Resiliency Fund 2.0. There's another relief payment coming, and if you're one of the few who wasn't lucky with the others, the Chicago Resiliency Fund 2.0 might be your chance. If you're a Chicago resident with tax dependents living in your household during the pandemic, you're eligible to be one of the 25,500 people to receive a one-time payment of $500.

Here's a list of candidates who aim to take Lori Lightfoot's spot. The filing deadline to run for Mayor of Chicago is Nov. 28, and there's no telling how many more candidates will make their presence known. So far, 14 people are running against Mayor Lightfoot, including an activist, alderman, and retired Chicago police officer.

Since this started, Chicago has received over 360 migrants who arrive with little money, clothing, food, a place to stay, or a job. This creates a problem for city officials and non-profits who need time to prefer for their arrival.

Governor Greg Abbott started busing migrants out of his state to sanctuary cities such as Washington, D.C., and New York City. Initially, it was to spite President Joe Biden for his lack of support on the Texas-Mexico border crisis as millions have entered the United States over the past two years.

Then last week, they expanded the location, and migrants were sent to Chicago. And, less than a week later on Sunday, another group of migrants arrived in the Windy City.

This week, Texas Governor Greg Abbott sent two buses of migrants to Chicago. Previously the Republican Governor had sent migrants to New York and Washington, D.C. Now, Chicago is feeling the effects of Texas with the first two busloads of migrants arriving.

Recently, the migrants were bussed to Washington, D.C., and New York City. Then on Wednesday, Governor Abbott announced a new location where migrants will be sent - Chicago.

In Chicago, 29.3 percent of employees have disabilities. Mayor Lightfoot and The Mayor’s Office for People with Disabilities are furthering their mission to assist people with disabilities and provide them with access to job opportunities and training.
