Topanga Lookout | Los Angeles Hikes
The Topanga Lookout (or overlook) is a short 2 mile out and back trail in the Santa Monica Mountains just outside Los Angeles. What makes it special? The trail leads to a few large concrete platforms that give a sweeping view of the surrounding mountains (and more on clear days). This hike is worth it for the view alone, but people have also turned the platforms into giant canvasses for some pretty cool art. Address for the trailhead: 23300 Saddle Peak Rd, Calabasas, CA 91302
Sandstone Peak via Mishe Mokwa Trail: Best Hike in LA!!
Youtube: Michael Martello Sandstone Peak is the tallest point in the Santa Monica Mountains (3,111 feet). I hiked to the summit on a 6.5-mile loop via the Mishe Mokwa Trail, passing a few awesome points of interest on the way (Balancing Rock, Split Rock, Inspiration Point, etc.). On my New Year's Day hike, I started the year off right - with an inspirational message for you all, as well.
