The centerpiece of the Bethany Community for 135 years. Driving near the beautiful South Carolina town of Clover sits a country store on the corner of S.C. 161 and S.C. 55 in York County. For nearly 135 years McGill’s Store has proudly served the Bethany community and surrounding areas. The store was established in 1888 by James Leslie McGill and turned into one of the longest-running businesses in York County until it briefly closed in 2020.

That's exactly what happened when I visited Mount Sterling, Kentucky and discovered Romero's, owned by writer/filmmaker George C. Romero and his wife.

If you’re looking for a delicious breakfast option that won’t leave you tight on cash let me introduce you to Barista Del Barrio. When I happened upon this quaint restaurant on a search for coffee one weekend, what I found was even more than I could have hoped for. Founded in 2017 by local entrepreneur Flavia Briones, Barista Del Barrio has Tucsonans lining up daily for this no-frills breakfast spot. Located near the corner of Speedway and Grande Ave in the historic Barrio Hollywood neighborhood, the restaurant features plenty of seating on an outdoor patio and a walk-up window for ordering. While the building appears unassuming, the flavors really pack a punch.

Coffee lovers rejoice! Another locally owned cafe opened in Tucson, right off Country Club Road near Speedway. Yellow Brick Coffee celebrated the opening of its new flagship store this past weekend with a grand opening party. This is Yellow Brick’s second location, with the original opening off Dodge road in 2014.

I have to thank our friend for introducing my boyfriend and I to this place a few years ago. He’s lived in the area practically his whole life and recommended we go here for food and drinks.

in a little North Carolina town, in a row of quaint stores and restaurants, resides Flat Rock Village Bakery. Parking is located behind the outdoor deck seating, dappled in the sunshine, under cover of old draping magnolia trees and the sweet scent of its blossoms. Additional parking is located behind the whimsical local businesses adjacent to the bakery.

It's impossible to miss these days, the gorgeous building on 66 North Queen Street. Lit up in holiday blue and sparkly lights, Yorgos Restaurant & Lounge, a casual and friendly gathering spot for locals, looks absolutely stunning - almost like an urban winter wonderland.
