Winnsboro Takes the Little Free Library to Another Level
The original Little Free Library was installed in Hudson, Wisconsin, to help bring a community together. Not only did it get that community together, but it also started a movement bringing communities together worldwide. Now there are 115 countries with Little free libraries that give children and adults free access to books.
Week of Events Planned As Duxbury Free Library Reopens After 3 Week Closure
The library is officially open!Duxbury Free Library / Facebook. The Duxbury Free Library has reopened to the public as of Monday, July 25th at 2 PM!. The library was closed for over three weeks to repair damage from flooding that occurred in February. Repairs included replacing the carpet in the Children's Room, as seen below.
Clay County schools writing new manuals on how to challenge books
Clay County District Schools has updated a policy that allows parents to report material they deem as obscene in a school library. The school board took emergency action to adopt the policy that also changes how reading, library and instructional materials are selected. The board did this to comply with the language in HB 1467 that Governor Ron DeSantis signed in March.

This is the new building after the 60’s fire. Architects studied original blueprints to insure new building matched the former home. Parsippany-Troy Hills – The Parsippany-Troy Hills Public Library System will be partnering with coLAB Arts, based in Bridgewater, NJ, to produce oral histories and photo essays documenting the local and immigrant experiences of the Asian community with the support of a Morris County Heritage Commission re-grant award.

Summer reading at Clay County libraries kicks off next week
The summer reading program at Clay County’s five libraries kicks into high gear following the Memorial Day holiday. It starts May 31 and runs until July 16. The library encourages everyone to stop by a branch the first week to sign up for summer reading. When you register, you get reading logs and a goodie bag. “Each time you complete a log and turn it into your library branch, you’re entered to win a grand prize for your age group,” said library programming associate Victoria Slaughter.

The goal of the Clay County library system's five-year plan is to improve the quality of the collection, which will ultimately shorten wait times. The county took an inventory of its collection and found that more than 75 percent needed to be replaced.
