My personal experience with Instacart Grubhub and DoorDash
Instacart can be a great service if you need groceries delivered but keep in mind that you are dealing with humans. Although the delivery personnel is vetted they can still make mistakes as happened with an Ohio woman who found her bill was over $100 higher than it should be. Instacart also has hidden fees because when you check the prices of items you will find that they are $1.00 or higher than if you purchased them in the store. A vegan pot pie that I enjoy from Kroger is $8.00 in the store but close to 10 when I order through Instacart.
As emergency SNAP benefits expire, Instacart rolls out campaign to support families in need
Instacart, the leading grocery technology company in North America, today announced a special Community Carts campaign and an extension of its discounted Instacart+ membership for SNAP recipients to help families continue to put nutritious food on the table as emergency COVID-19 SNAP benefits expire in 32 states. The expiration means grocery budgets will tighten by at least $95 per month for more than 30 million people and, as a result, many local food banks that are already facing supply shortages amid rising food prices are now bracing for a surge in demand for assistance.
Select SNAP recipients to receive 50% discount on Instacart+ memberships for a year
A recent news report states that select Instacart customers who used a SNAP card (aka electronic benefit transfer (EBT) card or "food stamps") to buy groceries on Instacart are eligible to receive half off of an Instacart+ membership for 12 months.
