There is more interesting news coming out of the city of Austin, Texas with Google and its contractors being at the center of it. According to the news website SFGate, a group of workers that were contracted by Google to work on YouTube voted to ratify a bargaining unit yesterday on Wednesday afternoon. This is a historic election to unionize and collectively bargain at the tech company Google with the vote to unionize passing forty-one to zero. The National Labor Relations Board (or NLRB for short) representative counting the ballots said forty-nine workers were eligible to vote for unionization. These employees work for the subcontractor Cognizant on content operations for Google's YouTube Music as well as other parts of YouTube.
