We Found a WW2 Museum in an Abandoned Outlet Mall in Kennesaw, and Its Worth A Visit
As the anniversaries of VE Day (Victory in Europe) and D-Day, the Allied invasion of Europe, approach on May 8 and June 6 respectively, we made a return visit to the Museum of History and Holocaust Education at Kennesaw State University. The small museum located in an abandoned outlet mall offers haunting reminders and lessons from the dark times in the 1930s and 1940s. The museum also tells the story of Georgia and Georgians at war. The museum is open Monday to Friday, and admission is free. You can also visit the museum's website to learn more about the traveling exhibits offered for educators, and special programing. The museum is located at 3333 Busbee Drive, Kennesaw, GA 30144.
On Holocaust Remembrance Day, we recall how a Bronx Rabbi saved one family
For the past 70 years we've been taught to never forget the genocide of six million Jews but a new survey released today on Yom Hashoa, Holocaust Remembrance Day, shows that it is fading into memory.
Fountain and community faith restored after Holocaust memorial vandalized
Most of Judd's extended family were executed by the NazisMarc Albert. A simple, four-sided pedestal with four faucets for ritual handwashing was recently re-installed at Santa Rosa Memorial Park after being damaged a second time in two years. Intended as a place of reflection to honor victims of the Nazis, repeated vandalism has left a feeling of unease among some in the local Jewish community, and also brought shows of unity and support.

Editorial: I Was a School Teacher For 10 Years. I Have Never Been as Embarrassed and Appalled as I Am Now.
Unlike most of my articles for NewsBreak, which refrain from personal opinion and are most frequently based on mental health or consumer issues, I will detour with this one. As a reminder, I am a former special education teacher with substantive training in psychology. My student populations were labeled as severely at-risk, and comprised primarily of substance abusers, gang members, and formerly incarcerated high schoolers. Issues of distrust and violence were rampant. Due to the difficult lives of these students, conventional learning was among the largest of their problems.
The Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington, DC is a Reminder of how Dark History has Been!
Today was very eventful. We went to the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum In Washington DC, got pulled over by Secret Service in front of the White House and had to deal with the bus breaking down in the middle of the city.
