Another bank mission on the Trinity River in North Texas. This big 6ft alligator gar picked up my bait and ripped some serious drag. Manage to hook him with a circle hook. After I Got some pictures, we let him go. Thanks for watching!

Fishing the Trinity River for Alligator Gar
First catch of the day was an active 4-foot alligator gar. Almost lost the fish when it swam under the boat. I was able to get the hook out and release it.
Fishing for Big Alligator Gar
After I caught that huge flathead, we went a little more down river, and I caught a huge alligator gar. Right at 7 feet long That fish was heavy as you can tell. Released it to keep growing and to catch another day!

Today was definitely one for the books. Also, it makes up for the last couple weeks. Caught my heaviest Gar on my New Penn 7ft combo. Ended the day with 4 fish so great day for sure.

Summer Gar Fishing in Texas
What’s up guys! Sorry again for the long wait. I’ve been putting in time but nothing to show for it till now that the river is down to normal level. It’s been my main goal to finish the year with a couple bigger gars and then get ready for a big post spawn blue! Those North Texas Missions aren’t over yet! Alligator Gar Fishing (My first Tagged Gar!)
Sup guys! CeeLo and I decided to hit the river again and ran into Gerbilles Guide Service on their free time roaming the river. They said Hey and went about their way. Hour later they came back and wanted to take us to Gar heaven!
What did I Hook into? (First EVER!)
The river has been kicking my butt lately. I catch small gar and lose the big ones. This time I experienced a new catch and a couple drag runs that give me hope for next year.
