Lunch at the Lighthouse Cafe in Bill Baggs Cape Florida Park
We had grouper for lunch in the state park!
Hidden Florida: King's Landing and the Emerald Cut
We know Florida for its beaches and theme parks (and maybe a couple of “Florida Man” stories too). But did you know that there are over 700 freshwater springs in Florida? Exploring each of Florida’s springs has been one of our biggest highlights since moving here. On the top of our list of favorite springs, are King’s Landing and the Emerald Cut.
Where to snorkel in the Florida Keys
If you're heading to the Florida Keys, you've got to get out on the water! We recently went out on a snorkeling excursion to Looe Key with Captain Hooks in Big Pine Key, FL. 4-hour snorkeling experience cost us $49/each.
Robbie's Marina: Heart-racing attraction in the Florida Keys!
If you’re driving through the Florida Keys or heading down to Key West, Robbie’s is an easy pitstop right in Islamorada. This is certainly a tourist spot in the Keys so this place can get PACKED! But it’s still a super fun (and affordable!) stop. Parking here is free and entry to the dock where you can find the tarpons is only $2.50 per person. If you want to feed the tarpons yourself, a bucket of 5-7 fish costs $5.00. You better be quick! These suckers are feisty and could very possibly engulf your entire fist while feeding.
This Florida State Park has monkeys - but it's not necessarily a good thing
We heard rumblings that there is a population of monkeys at Silver Springs State Park. While we didn't see any on our visit, we wanted to get the scoop on how these monkeys got there.
Missing Cruise Passenger: Tragedy at Sea
Relatives Report Disappearance, Security Cameras Track Movements. As confirmed by authorities, a Carnival Cruise passenger is reported missing after he voluntarily jumped off the ship while en route to Florida. The family of the 30-year-old man informed the ship's staff that he had disappeared on Sunday, prompting security personnel to review video footage to trace his actions.
I asked ChatGPT to create a staycation for me nearby (in Florida) here’s what it suggested
It’s summer in South Florida and I’m looking for fun things to do. Oh, I could certainly look at the arts section of the newspaper online, but I thought that it would be different to ask ChatGPT to create a one-day itinerary for me that is close to home.
Cool Off During the Record Heat Wave in This Gorgeous Spring
We stopped at Morrison Springs in Northern Florida to check out the spectacular spring water. We were definitely amazed by how beautiful it was...and crowded! If you are looking for a fun place to cool off, give this park a look. 5 Things to Do in Orlando Besides Disney and Universal
While Orlando is known as the home of Walt Disney World and some other world-famous theme parks, there’s a lot more to do in and near this Central Florida destination. Many of these family-friendly activities take place outdoors, so you’ll want to make sure you stay hydrated and use plenty of sunscreen on your vacation.

Off the Beaten Path in Florida: These Hidden Gems Are Must Sees!
Here are a few of our favorite places while driving down to Islamorada in the Florida Keys! If you are driving from Naples Florida to the Florida Keys, make sure to take Highway 41 down Tamiami Trail and make a pitstop at the Big Cypress Oasis Visitors Center to see the local residents & the king of the swamps... a TON of Alligators! Fast forward to the end of our drive, we arrived at Drop Anchor Hotel (where we stayed the night) & launched our boat. While launching the boat, 2 massive Manatees came swimming past us. After we saw those guys, we made our way out to the ocean and saw even MORE wildlife! Don't forget to give us a thumbs up & a follow if you enjoyed this clip! - Ashley & Nate
