On January 3, 2023, Osceola County Sheriff's Office announced the arrest of Bryant Scott Demelo, a Florida man wanted on manslaughter charges. It is alleged that Bryant murdered his partner after a BDSM encounter went wrong.

Doctor Michael J. Ligotti, D.O., a 48-year-old physician who served as Medical Director or Authorizing Physician for over 50 sober homes, substance abuse treatment facilities, and clinical testing laboratories in the Palm Beach County area, has been sentenced to 20 years in prison for his role in a massive multi-year scheme to defraud health care benefit programs.

On January 6th, 2023, Transportation Security Administration (TSA) spokesperson, Lisa Farbstein, tweeted about an incident that occurred at Tampa International Airport. According to the tweet, a passenger attempted to bring a Boa Constrictor onto their flight as a carry-on item. The four-foot constrictor, which was discovered during the TSA's security screening process, was found to be in good health and was subsequently removed from the passenger bag, and denied access into the airport.

A 72-year-old man from Central Florida was killed when he went outside during Hurricane Ian to drain his pool. The Volusia County Sheriff's Office reports that the elderly man disappeared from his Deltona residence at around 1:00 a.m. After the victim did not return to his residence on Poinciana Lane, close to Lake Bethel, his wife reportedly contacted authorities.

This Florida man was attacked by an alligator while swimming across Lake Manatee near Myakka City. Not only did he lose his arm, but it took him three days to find his way out of the swamp. He is lucky to be alive!
