Everyone living in Florida is familiar with the "Florida Man" trope. Hundreds if not thousands of news headlines exist where a local man is caught doing something completely eccentric and often illegal.

A Florida Man was caught on camera climbing up the Brickell Avenue drawbridge in Miami-Dade on Monday, 27 March 2023. Witnesses can't believe their eyes as the man climbs up the upright drawbridge, hangs on without a harness or ropes, and then descends down the bridge with a boat underneath. He then leaves the scene uninjured before authorities arrive at the drawbridge.

Only in Florida, folks! A couple was recently filmed feeding alligators with sandwiches in South Florida waters. In the viral video, the man and woman are chest-deep in the water, breaking pieces of sandwiches to feed to the gators. It’s quite a sight to behold!

A Walmart employee in Okeechobee, Florida takes a call from an upset customer venting to him about the parking problem. He responds with an answer that essentially lets the customer know that the parking problem is out of his control. The whole interaction is filmed in a TikTok video.

On January 3, 2023, Osceola County Sheriff's Office announced the arrest of Bryant Scott Demelo, a Florida man wanted on manslaughter charges. It is alleged that Bryant murdered his partner after a BDSM encounter went wrong.

Doctor Michael J. Ligotti, D.O., a 48-year-old physician who served as Medical Director or Authorizing Physician for over 50 sober homes, substance abuse treatment facilities, and clinical testing laboratories in the Palm Beach County area, has been sentenced to 20 years in prison for his role in a massive multi-year scheme to defraud health care benefit programs.

On January 6th, 2023, Transportation Security Administration (TSA) spokesperson, Lisa Farbstein, tweeted about an incident that occurred at Tampa International Airport. According to the tweet, a passenger attempted to bring a Boa Constrictor onto their flight as a carry-on item. The four-foot constrictor, which was discovered during the TSA's security screening process, was found to be in good health and was subsequently removed from the passenger bag, and denied access into the airport.

A 72-year-old man from Central Florida was killed when he went outside during Hurricane Ian to drain his pool. The Volusia County Sheriff's Office reports that the elderly man disappeared from his Deltona residence at around 1:00 a.m. After the victim did not return to his residence on Poinciana Lane, close to Lake Bethel, his wife reportedly contacted authorities.
