RALEIGH, NC. - North Carolina lawmakers are considering a new bill that could affect how early voting is conducted in the state. The proposed bill, titled "Early Voting Constitutional Amendment," would amend the state's constitution to limit early in-person voting to a maximum of seven consecutive days.

At long last, the new system will go live on February 6th with plenty of pomp and circumstance. The acronym GaRVIS stands for the Georgia Registered Voter Information System. According to reports, it will store the voter registration records for all of Georgia’s 7.9 million voters, more efficiently than the current system, which has become taxed due to rapidly expanding state voter rolls in recent years.

The much-anticipated new system goes fully online this February 6th with very high expectations. GaRVIS is a cutesy acronym that stands for the Georgia Registered Voter Information System. According to a press release by the Secretary of State’s office, GaRVIS is expected to store the voter registration records for all of Georgia’s 7.9 million voters far more efficiently than the current system, which has become overtaxed due to the rapidly expanding number of newly registered voters in recent years.

(Forsyth County, GA) A new early voting record was set in Georgia on Friday, December 2, when 352,953 votes were cast in the December 6 Runoff Election between incumbent Senator Rev. Raphael Warnock (D) and Herschel Walker (R) for the U.S. Senate seat. The last record was set during early voting for the 2016 Presidential Election.

The 2022 election season is underway in Texas, as voters have the opportunity to cast their vote during the early voting time. Texas has entered the second week of early voting, and Fox 4 News is reporting that turnout is down compared to the past two elections. Slightly more than 16% of voters in the four most populous counties in North Texas have cast their ballots so far.

Clay County voters will have the opportunity to vote early in the general election starting on Friday, Oct. 28. Election day is Nov. 8. In-person early voting ends Saturday, Nov. 5. The voting takes place between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m.

Early Voters(via USA Today) States are reporting record breaking numbers of early voters. Already more than 7 million votes have been cast. Though not all states register voters by party, in those that do, Democrats have a strong lead over Republicans in votes cast. Democrats have cast 55% of early ballots so far, compared to 34.5% early ballots by GOP voters and 10.4% for unaffiliated voters.

The Clay County Charter Review Commission has submitted three proposals for consideration by voters in the general election. Clay County voters have the opportunity to vote early in the general election starting Friday, Oct. 28. Election day is Nov. 8.

Georgia election officials say a possible fake ballot was discovered at an early voting location in Spalding County Wednesday morning. Investigators report that a full-scale investigation is now underway to determine who created it and why. State elections director Blake Evans claims that officials at the Georgia Secretary of State’s office believe someone wasn’t trying to alter the result of the election, but merely to have the fake ballot found so it would cast doubt on the election results and the integrity of the election itself.

Early Voting in Gerogia(public use) Midterm elections are usually dismal. People are (politically) exhausted from the Presidential election cycle two years earlier. Normally, the turn-out favors the party that lost the presidential election, as the losing side seems to be the only ones motivated enough to vote. The size of the loss for the party in power is historically correlated with the disappointment with the president and the president’s party, the state of the economy, as well as occasional scandals or crises.
