Carson Briere, who is the son of the Philadelphia Flyers' interim general manager Danny Briere, has been accused of being involved in an incident where he pushed a woman's wheelchair down a bar's staircase in Erie.
Douglas County Celebrates Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month
Douglas County, Colorado has declared March, “Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month.” To promote programs and services for the developmentally disabled, the county established a Developmental Disabilities Mil Levy Grant program, (DDML) in 2001. The one mil property tax is dedicated to providing 93% of the DDML fund for the County’s program, Developmental Pathways, 5.5% for a competitive grant program and the remaining 1.5% goes to cover treasurer’s fees.

The AFC program (Adult Foster Care Program) is a State funded MassHealth program. The program pays caregivers that are taking care of a friend or family member, living in the same household that is physically or mentally disabled. Services are provided at no cost to the caregiver or MassHealth member. To qualify for the program, the person being cared for must have MassHealth Standard or MassHealth CommonHealth. They must be 16 years of age or older and be unable to live alone due to a medical, physical, cognitive, or mental health condition.

The Desert Challenge games brought over 300 competitors from 12 countries to compete in a variety of events such as archery, swimming and track and field. Hosted by Arizona Disabled Sports, this event is open to competitors with developmental or physical disabilities. The event takes place in Mesa, Arizona.
