Denver airport may expand 'Airbnb for cars'
(Denver, Colo.) Denver City Council Tuesday approved two contracts establishing a carsharing program at Denver International Airport. Councilmember Chris Hinds called the program "an Airbnb for cars" during a Facebook chat last week.
Denver pays $331 million for airport expansion, flood repairs
(Denver, Colo.) The Denver City Council extended various contracts for the renovation of Denver International Airport by $331 million over two years Monday. Some of the extensions became necessary after a pipe burst in December 2021 and flooded a newly renovated area of the airport. Hot water caused extensive damage. Although construction companies are working to obtain insurance settlements, they need to make repairs now. Other contract expansions come from a desire to add capacity at the airport.
Another $22 million in contracts awarded for DIA remodel
(Denver, Colo.) The Denver City Council likely will approve another $22 million in “as needed” contracts Monday for remodeling projects at Denver International Airport. In January, airport officials told the council it will take at least four years and another $1 billion to complete the airport redo. But they stressed that the project still is on time and on budget.

Denver airport employees feel threatened, say security inadequate
(Denver, Colo.) Some employees at Denver International Airport complain they feel unsafe at work. One reported being followed to her car and harassed by an angry passenger. Another said having to park in the airport's public economy lot puts their vehicles at risk for vandalism and theft.
