Will Smith hits Chris Rock at the 94th Academy Awards.Reuters. March 27 - The slap heard around the world all started with a joke. The audience, along with comedian Chris Rock, were left completely stunned after actor Will Smith walked onto the stage and slapped Rock during the live taping of the 94th Academy Awards.

Comedian Chris Rock will be performing in Baltimore at the Lyric Opera House on April 22 and April 23. Tickets for the Ego Death World Tour start at $154, and there are a limited number of seats still available at the Lyric.

Many of us know how challenging it can be to speak in front of large groups of people and potentially not feel comfortable as you normally may for one reason or another. This went to a new level during the airing of 94th Academy Awards hosted by Chris Rock. Award shows like the Oscars for many years, 93 out of 94 anyway, have been happy occasions, with achievements being celebrated in front of their peers and the general public alike.

Social Media users across the world have slammed the Oscars and Hollywood for "working on blacklisting" Will Smith in front of the internet "over a slap" when many others were left to continue working despite "horrible crimes that they committed" over the years.

The Academy 'seriously discussed' asking Will Smith to leave after he hit comedian Chris Rock on stage at the Oscars 2022. According to an EW insider, it was "a very huge decision" which would have "consequences within the show." They also claimed that making a decision in a short period of time was a "nightmare and borderline impossible" task.

Normally, people watch the Oscars to see whether or not their favorite movie won for Best Picture or if their favorite actor or actress won Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Supporting Actor, or Best Supporting Actress.

The Academy loses control, Will Smith Slaps Chris Rock, and No One Wants to Watch This Disaster Any Longer. Once more, the academy put in a dreadful, messy, nearly unwatchable (if not for all the drama) awards show. It is time for the Academy to step back and give the awards to the people who love movies.

The bottom line is, this is good PR for an awards show that has found itself in a downward spiral for a while now. Did I mention the segment was censored in good old free America but not elsewhere? What's up with that?
