Clay County officials are hosting a “Touch a Truck: What Moves Clay” event on Saturday, Aug. 26. Families are encouraged to attend. The event is free. “This twist on our free event will bring together everyone and everything that moves Clay - from county departments and services to nonprofits, public safety, county agencies and more,” a county press release said.

A Fleming Island High School student was arrested in May for secretly recording videos in the girl’s restroom at the school. He now faces additional charges for the possession of more than 10 files of child pornography.

The Clay County Sheriff’s Office is asking the community for help in another “Fugitive Friday” case. This week’s fugitive, Che’ J. Jenkins Jr., is a 25-year-old black male wanted on four counts of violation of sex offender probation, according to the sheriff’s office Facebook post.

A Clay County Sheriff’s Office NET town hall meeting is scheduled for Thursday, Aug. 10 and all community members are welcome. The meeting will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Middleburg Civic Association (2102 Palmetto St. Middleburg). There is no cost to attend.

An 18-year-old Orange Park man was arrested Friday for selling child pornography, deputies say. The investigation into Omar Ayman Mohamed Abdelhady, 18, began when an FBI employee discovered he was involved in the online exploitation of children. Abdelhady was 17-years-old at the time, according to the arrest warrant.

A Florida man was transported from Duval County Thursday and is being held in Clay County Jail on a $100,003 bond for raping a 13-year-old girl, deputies say. Ricardo Servin, 20, of Jacksonville posed as a 14-year-old named “Richi” on the app “Wizz” to connect with the child victim.

A Clay County Jail inmate died Sunday, the Clay County Sheriff’s Office reported. Michael Edward Foyt, 60, was arrested July 15 for a pretrial release condition violation from a prior charge of domestic battery.

A Clay County Jail inmate died Thursday evening, the Clay County Sheriff’s Office reported. Kevin Scott Keene, 55, of Jacksonville was booked into Clay County Jail for one count of aggravated battery on July 18. His stay at the jail was “uneventful,” and there were “no issues with him requiring the use of force during his stay,” a sheriff’s office press release said.

A Green Cove Springs man was arrested Friday and faces eight counts of cruelty toward a child (use or allow a child to engage in sex), deputies say. Zacharia Ray Craig, 20, of Green Cove Springs was discovered by Clay County Sheriff’s Office investigators while working on a different case involving the same child victim, they said.

An Orange Park woman was arrested Monday and faces charges of dealing in stolen property, deputies say. A female victim called the Clay County Sheriff’s Office on June 5 to report her 1985 Pontiac Firebird as stolen, according to the arrest report. An investigation into the case revealed that Mazie Casciani, 30, of Orange Park was likely responsible for the theft, deputies said.

An Orange Park man led Clay County Sheriff’s Office deputies on a chase through the town before getting arrested on one charge of grand theft auto. On Saturday at approximately 10:28 p.m. deputies saw a red Hyundai Veloster fail to stop at a stop sign leaving the Circle K gas station located at 1091 Blanding Blvd. The vehicle turned south onto Jefferson Avenue.

A 30-year-old Douglas man is currently still in custody from an alleged assault earlier this month. According to officers, the suspect, Christopher Lee Crosby of Douglas, claimed that he “lost it” while arguing with his girlfriend, and admitted to choking her.

A Keystone Heights man was transported from Suwannee Correctional Institute to the Clay County Jail Thursday in reference to a carjacking crime committed in November of 2021, deputies say.
