Deliciously Thrifty Sour Milk Bread: An Easy Recipe for Homemade Yeast Bread
Since I still had more sour milk to salvage from my gallon of milk that soured before its expiration date, I needed to bake again. To tell the truth, I didn’t have more room in my freezer for more cakes. Therefore, I decided to try making homemade bread with it. My sour milk bread recipe is the delicious result.
How To Make - “Authentic” Irish Soda Bread.
I absolutely love Irish Soda bread. First I love it because it’s easy to make, takes no time in preparing and it’s a quick bread that requires no yeast. It bakes to absolute perfection with a crisp outer crust, a tender but still dense crumb that just screams for a rich slather of butter and a drizzle of honey. This is my go to bread recipe when I’m making Dublin Coddle or Irish stew, the bread really compliments the main meal so well (aka really does a bang up job sopping up all that stew goodness!).

Brown sugar bread
This recipe will make two medium-sized loaves of delicious brown sugar bread. I used all-purpose flour, but you can use white whole wheat flour as a substitute. You can also add additional ingredients to the dough if you desire, at any time before baking the loaves. Add-ins can include the following ingredients: cinnamon, chocolate chips, nuts, oats, or fruit.
Garlic Bread - Of The Future 🤯🧄🥖
I love any type of bead, sweet bread, savory bread, sandwich bread, artisan bread, you name it and I would probably eat it. But there is one bread in my opinion that’s in a league all it’s own. Can you guess it? Yes, the delicious, salty, savory make your taste buds dance, garlic bread. Honestly is there a more delicious bread out there? Umm .... no.
Pullman cheese and pepperoni bread
This loaf of bread is filled with chunks of pepperoni and gooey shredded cheese. It's wonderful served with various pasta dishes or for a snack just by itself and when it's dipped in pizza sauce, it's even better! My husband enjoys eating a slice just as soon as it's cool enough to serve. Are you guys ready to put some mouthwatering yum into your tums?
Jalapeño, Bacon and Cheddar Monkey Bread
This bread has been a bit life altering. I made this on a whim the other night. My daughter and her boyfriend were heading over to drop off a few things and me being a mom, I had to have something to feed them! It’s what moms do! Thankfully I already had everything on hand and was able to whip this up in no time, hot and fresh from the oven when they walked through the door. If I told you that between them and my spouse and I we literally demolished this bread. I don’t even want to think about how many calories I ingested, I’m just going to enjoy the moment.
English Muffin Bread - No Knead 🍞
I made this amazing salad the last night, it tasted just like the one of those salads that you can pickup at your local pizza shop with the amazing homemade Italian dressing. When I was putting my salad together I realized that what it was missing was that carb component. I needed something, some sort of bread to accompany this epic salad I was making. Of course being who I am, I didn't plan accordingly and as I rummaged my way through the freezer and fridge for some sort of crusty bread to pair with my salad I realized, there is none and it was too dang cold out to run to the store. Luckily I found this recipe, that was not only easy to do but was fast and didn't take all day to make with multiple risings.
Chocolate Chip Oatmeal - Quick Bread 🍞
This bread is amazing with a hot cup of java in the morning, when no-one is up, the house is quiet and peaceful, it's my favorite time of the day. I love making breads, especially quick breads. They aren't as intimidating as breads that require kneading and rising. Don't get me wrong, I try to make those types of breads but I haven't quite mastered the skill or the patience. So until I do, quick breads are where it's at for me! This chocolate chip oatmeal bread is just the right amount of sweet, has a tender crumb thanks to the buttermilk and is moist and delicious. You could always substitute peanut butter or cinnamon chips in place of the chocolate chips. They all taste amazing.... don't ask me how I know...
Butter crusted bread
Today, I am making my Boule (round) butter crusted bread. This bread is baked inside a 375 degrees F oven, inside a cast-iron skillet. It can also be baked inside a Dutch oven, on a baking stone, or in a loaf pan. Use whatever works best for you and your occasion.
Homemade buttermilk sunshine biscuits
Homemade buttermilk sunshine biscuits/Photo byGin Lee. If you enjoy bread, today I am preparing my homemade buttermilk sunshine biscuits. These biscuits have nice, buttery flavored layers and a browned crunchy crust. To enhance the crust, I brush the tops of the dough with extra buttermilk before baking, then while the biscuits are baking, I brush the tops with melted butter to brown them. Plus, during the last few minutes of baking, I flip the biscuits over to brush the bottoms with extra melted butter. This is what creates the golden sunshine color on the outside of their crusts.
No knead loaf bread
There's no need to knead this dough. So, skip the bread aisle because you can create your own delicious fresh loaf of bread right in your own kitchen. I simply love making homemade bread, and this is another one of my favorites. It takes about five minutes to whip up the dough, then another five hours to allow the dough to rest and double. As stated above, there's no kneading involved. Plus, this is another very forgiving dough. So, don't worry if you get busy and forget that the dough is resting on the counter. Should that occur, don't throw your dough out. Just simply continue following the rest of the instructions. Your bread will turn out delicious!

To make my delicious cheese bread, first you'll need to follow my list of ingredients and instructions that go along with my country-style no-knead bread. No worries, I will do a recap for creating the dough again here in this article since it's the main dough recipe that I used to make my scrumptious country-style cheese bread.
Cherokee Indian fried bread
Cherokee Indian fried bread/Cherokee biscuits/Photo byGin Lee. This morning, I felt like going back to my roots and making homemade Cherokee fried bread. When I was a little girl, my great-grandmother (who was Cherokee Indian) taught me how to make simple, but oh so delicious Cherokee fried bread, while she'd tell me about the hardships my ancestors went through while walking the Trail of Tears (American Indian removal that began in 1831, ended in 1850). Many American Indians suffered from hunger, disease, and brutality. The Tribes were given minimum government provisions (white flour, salt, and lard) and they had to learn how to make the most from what they were given, while rationing the provisions to survive. I was told that it was during this gut wrenching journey that my Cherokee ancestors learned how to make fried bread. It's not considered being the healthiest bread ever made, but it is a traditional survival bread recipe that dates back to the Trail of Tears.
Country-style English muffins
English muffins are the perfect go to breakfast bread because they can be toasted, buttered, or be used to make the most amazing breakfast sandwiches. The muffin dough will need time to rest, so if you're wanting English muffins for breakfast, it's best to create the dough ahead of time.
