PORTLAND, Ore — On Nov. 11, 2015, 26-year-old Laray William Seamster was shot several times. The incident occurred near North Vancouver Avenue and Fargo Street in Portland, Oregon. Soon after, he was taken to the hospital to be treated for his wounds. Sadly, he was pronounced dead shortly after his arrival.

North Carolina- In recent years crime and punishment has been the subject of many news stories and the subject of more than a few debates. As one of millions who are or have been subject to the criminal justice system, I feel qualified to weigh in the debate.
2 Men Disappeared After Run-In With Officer, Still Unsolved

Williams had recently moved to Florida to take care of his elderly mother. He had a suspended license, but he still drove to the party anyway. The next day, he didn’t come back home. His mother, Marcia, started searching for him as Williams would not leave without informing anyone.

Georgia gubernatorial candidate, Stacey Abrams, has launched an effort to secure the votes of Black men in Georgia. Abrams, a Democrat, started her focused conversations with Black men last month, identifying the demographic as the linchpin to the success of her campaign for Governor. According to Abrams, her drive for the Black male vote has been informed by research and statistics compiled from recent polling data. Armed with that information, she purposed to have focused conversations with Black Men in Georgia about her platform, to impress upon them why she is better suited to address and represent their issues, as governor.

While there are certainly exceptions, I think it’s safe to say that we’re all raised with a single concept: family. Your family is an important component of your life that is permanent and impactful. Most importantly, though, they’re supposed to be something that you can rely on. The bond between family members is seen as one of the only forms of unconditional love that exists. But what happens when you can’t trust your family? What happens when the family member that betrays you is your own twin brother? Well, that depends on what side of this case you find yourself.
