# Beaches in bodega bay
Visit Schoolhouse beach in Bodega Bay: Lots for the family to discover!
Schoolhouse Beach along Highway 1 in Bodega Bay is just another one of those "must see" beaches along the Sonoma County coastline. WARNING: Do not get close to the water! As with many beaches along the Sonoma Coastline, Schoolhouse beach is no different as signs are posted NOT to get in the water. It was actually our first time walking down to the beach. We were amazed, and completely unaware, that there are many rocks to explore with its accompanying tide pools. There is a vault toilet (that was a little messy on this Sunday that we visited) and dogs are allowed on the beach. It is free to park here as with most beaches in the Bodega Bay area. Check out our channel here on NewsBreak as we have a number of videos on beaches in this area! Thank you!
Doran Beach in Bodega Bay: A great spot for families!
The majority of beaches along the iconic Sonoma coastline are rocky, craggy, naturally rigid and incredibly dangerous to get in to the water, yet stunning. Doran Beach is the contrary to that. If you head to Bodega Bay for a day of clam chowder, beach combing, and sandcastle building, and you have children in tow, you have to head to Doran Beach. It is the PERFECT beach where it is safe to stick your toes in the water. The water is calm, yet, good enough for a little body surfing. In this video, we talk about the beach, where to park, where the restrooms are, and the cost. Grab the family and head out to Doran Regional Park!
