KCL Campground in California's Carrizo Plain National Monument is a campground favorite! KCL is one of two primitive campgrounds within the Carrizo Plain and it is FREE! It is quiet, it has amazing views, it has hiking nearby and is a perfect spot to base from in your RV or tent while exploring the Carrizo Plain.
