Restaurant That Failed Health Inspection Opens New Location
It doesn’t take long for a successful restaurant to expand outward, opening secondary locations, often within the same city. Often, this is specifically because of how visitors enjoy the quality of the food. And yet, there are times when restaurant owners expand, without necessarily focusing on the sanitary conditions within their own building. It is why one local business, which not only failed its last health inspection but multiple inspections in the past two years, is set to expand and open a new location here in Tucson.
Fried Chicken Restaurant From Korea Set to Open
Fried chicken is about as staple of an American culinary creation as anything else offered in the United States. However, other nationalities and regions around the world have taken notice. During the Korean War, U.S. troops introduced fried chicken to the local population, as military members celebrated Thanksgiving with fried chicken, instead of turkey, which was not easily available to them. While the military eventually left, the idea of fried chicken remained. Since then, South Korea has crafted its own fried chicken recipes and flavors, unique to them with their available spices and flavors. It has grown increasingly popular over the decades, and now a Korean-based fried chicken restaurant is making its way to metro Phoenix.

Americans Eating in Singapore: Must Try Hawker Food - Claypot Rice
Singapore: If you love sizzling hot food you’ll love this! Claypot rice is served sizzling hot just like fajitas popular in America’s Mexican restaurants. It comes with meat and vegetables of choice. The rice is very saucy - it’s usually cooked in a rich dark sauce. This is part of my new series: Americans Traveling For Food in Asia. The Top 3 Asian Food Spots in Lancaster, According to Yelp
It's no secret Lancaster's food scene is incredible. Personally, I've found several local spots in the city dishing up authentic meals, Asian cuisine included. Yelp's top 3 list of the best Asian food spots in Lancaster is one I can get behind:
Rare BURMESE RESTAURANT is One of LA's Hidden Gem Restaurants!
Rockstar Eater visits Jasmine Market and Deli, which is a Burmese restaurant in Palms. It is one of few Asian restaurants in LA that serves Burmese food, and is one of the highest rated, according to Yelp. You'll find many Burmese dishes here that you must try. Hawaiian restaurants have gained in popularity over the past decade or so.
Top 3 Ramen Spots to Try in San Diego
There are probably hundreds if not thousands of ramen spots throughout the city of San Diego, so it can be quite difficult to narrow down the spots that are worth trying. With that being said, I want to make it clear that I by no means claim that I have tried every ramen spot in San Diego, but there are quite a few spots that I have tried, namely the most popular ones and some smaller, hole in the wall spots as well. So, you can say I am pretty well versed in the ramen world, but it would be impossible to try every single ramen spot in San Diego. Of course, this is all pretty subjective and everyone can have very different tastes when it comes to what we look for in a bowl of ramen, but this is a compilation of reviews that are based on my personal experience as well as ratings found on the internet. Like I always say, I am not a fan of spicy food, so there could very well be really delicious and amazing spicy ramen dishes out there, but I for one can not be one to judge for that, unfortunately. But nonetheless we continue.
Authentic Chinese Hot Pot in San Diego - Liu Yi Shou
Liu Yi Shou is an authentic Chinese hotpot restaurant that was founded in the streets of Chongqing, China back in the year 2000. Since opening their first mom-and-pop restaurant, they now have over 1,200 restaurants worldwide including 18 that are located in North America, with some in Canada and some in America. One of those many restaurants are located in our very own San Diego! Liu Yi Shou opened not too long ago in the heart of Convoy of San Diego, the home of much of the authentic Asian food in the city.
Classic, Quality Ramen in San Diego - Tajima Ramen
Tajima Ramen and Izakaya Bar is a popular Japanese ramen restaurant with several locations spread across San Diego, namely Convoy, Mercury, Hillcrest, North Park, East Village, and College Heights. The location I visited was in the heart of Convoy, San Diego, the home of many delicious Asian restaurants, boba shops, and Asian dessert places. Tajima Ramen first opened in 2001 and has grown steadily to become one of San Diego's top Japanese restaurants today. Their dishes aim to honor the purity of traditional Japanese taste and style. They also pride themselves on having a wide selection of dishes to choose from as well as some that are more innovative and unique. Their dishes are quite affordable as well and their daily tapas-style (small plates) menu changes every season to give you something fresh to try every time you visit.
