Bee Collecting Pollen - So Beautiful!
The most important thing that bees do is pollinate. Pollination is needed for plants to reproduce, and so many plants depend on bees or other insects as pollinators. When a bee collects nectar and pollen from the flower of a plant, some pollen from the stamens sticks to the hairs of her body. When she visits the next flower, some of this pollen is rubbed off onto the stigma, or tip of the pistil. When this happens, fertilization is possible, and a fruit, carrying seeds, can develop. How amazing are Bees? 🐝

Point Reyes National Seashore - Part 2
A incredibly beautiful place this is. I love it out here! It's like you stepped back in time. There's very little people out here and the animals know it. If you love nature this is a great place to come. Maritime History at Point Reyes The sea is the soul of Point Reyes. It not only affects the climate and the species found here, but it is the key influence on the human history of the area. The Coast Miwok have depended on this coastline for food and materials for thousands of years; Spanish explorers and merchants, returning with spice and silk from the Asia, navigated by these cliffs and shores; and gold miners, dairy farmers, and lumbermen counted on the ships that sailed these waters for transporting their goods to and from market. Point Reyes' maritime history is a microcosm of California's history.
Kangaroos! Up Close & Personal at the Detroit Zoo
Looks like the Kangaroo Center/Exhibit is OPEN...even in the winter. Makes you wonder what these "Down-Under" Animals think of the Snow and Cold. We couldn't tell if they were Bored, Tired or Cold? You be the Judge. At the Lucky Duckling we wish these animals could be more in their natural Habitat, which includes weather, but at least they have lots of space at the Detroit Zoo. You can often witness them hopping around, crossing the Human Walkway Path...getting inches from these Crazy Creatures. Can't wait until Spring!
