This past week, Alamogordo Public School Students from Alamogordo High School submitted work, attended the Desert Light Student Film Festival. Several students were recognized for excellence and won awards. They all worked really hard and earned their results. Congratulations to each winner.

Regional Sports Update for Otero County regional high school interscholastic athletic. Below are the results in Golf, Softball, baseball and updates on tennis delays. In Golf competition the Alamogordo Girls finish 6th and the Boys finish 9th at the Leroy Gooch Invitational at Alto Lakes GC in Ruidoso.The Mescalero Apache Boys finished 14th.

Alamogordo High School was one such school system that progressively moved forward with implementation prior to the full Federal rules rollout. The first regulation stipulating the procedures for the implementation of Title IX was not released until June 1975. Some schools began interpreting and implementing Title IX prior to June of 1975.

Alamogordo regional sports update. In Baseball action the Alamogordo Boys Baseball team hosted their first home game and defeated Roswell 8-6. The Tigers improve their record to 2 wins and 7 losses. They next host Centennial on March 27th in district opener.

They shined this past weekend during the New Mexico State conference with a few members qualifying to Nationals and winning scholarships.

The Alamogordo High School Welding Team was the highest ranking team of novices to compete at the Sun City Building Weld Off. Alamogordo led and also led in breaking barriers as it was the only team of the 22 competitors to be represented with female welders.

Alamogordo High School Tiger Basketball went on the road to Las Cruces. Highlights of the boys game include. Alamogordo led the first quarter with a score of 14 to 12. Going into halftime Alamogordo had an overwhelming lead of 31 to 19. After the third quarter Alamogordo Tiger boys continued leading 42 to 35. During the fourth quarter the Alamogordo Tiger Boys lost the momentum and Las Cruces gained to defeat the Alamogordo Boys 52 to 46. Damiran Smith led the Tigers with 23 points, Deonta Bynum had 8, Kai Bickham with 6. The Alamogordo Tiger Boys drop to 7-9 and 1-3 in district. The Tigers next host Gadsden on Monday.

Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) is a Career and Technical Student Organization that functions as an integral part of the Family and Consumer Sciences education curriculum and operates within the school system of Alamogordo Public Schools and systems across the country.

AHS Tiger Boys Basketball hosted Centennial in the District 3-5A opener with a tip-off that was at 7:30 tonight. The game was broadcast and can be heard archived at 1230 AM, 101.9 FM or the Exciter Media App.

Girls Basketball Highlights for Alamogordo and the region…. Mescalero Apache defeated Ruidoso 58-55. Laurdis Sundayman led the Lady Chiefs with 16 points, Ivonna Burgess and Skyla Enjady each had 14. The Lady Chiefs improve their record to 9-5 and they next host Mesilla Valley Christian on Saturday.

Alamogordo Tiger make it to state Football Playoffs…. High School football fans from across Alamogordo, Otero County and the state will have a chance to cheer on the local teams over the course of the next several weeks with the start of the New Mexico Activities Association's state championship tournament.

The Alamogordo Tiger Band performed at the 45th Annual Tournament of Bands and earned a place in the Finals competition, finishing 7th place overall and 2nd place in Class A!. The Alamogordo Tiger Band represented their school and their town well today in Las Cruces! What an amazing season this has been for 2022.
