What Is Quiet Quitting? What Can It Look Like In Your Relationship?
I've been quiet quitting my entire life. It started as a traumatized kid who did everything they could to distance themselves from the daily emotional abuse at home. I was never around, because I was running away and checking out through academics and my endless passion projects. I would later do the same in terrible relationships. Instead of just standing up and walking out, I would mentally and emotionally detach and go somewhere else.
My partner’s tooth infection led to him behaving differently and is now causing conflict in our relationship.

Opinion: In shock, I saw my son kiss another girl while out on a supposed date with his long-term girlfriend.
It was around 5pm when my daughter, who is 13 years old, and I, a 43-year-old father, went to pick up dinner near our house in Washington. As we were waiting for our order, my daughter touched my arm and pointed across the restaurant. I followed her gaze and saw my 16-year-old son sitting in a booth with a girl. This surprised me because he had told my wife and me that he was going on a date with his long-term girlfriend of two years at 5pm. The girl next to him was definitely not his long-term girlfriend, and they were sitting very close to each other. Sensing the tension, I urged my daughter to stay seated and not let our son see us.

"It takes a village..." no longer works: Here's what I did for my kids and grandson instead
"It takes a village to raise a child." Some parents invest in the village concept; many don't. It lost appeal for me due to gross misuse. I rarely get through a day or two without the words echoing in my brain from over-zealous 'helpers.'
[OPINION] 15 Undeniable Signs Someone Loves You
Once upon a lifetime ago, kids used to scrawl I love SOS in their notebooks when they didn’t want to reveal the identity of the someone special they had a crush on. Only the closest of friends were clued in on the secret identity because there was an element of fear in revealing it. You could be rejected. You could be ridiculed. You could feel foolish because you were rejected and ridiculed. And if the person actually liked you back? Well, there was embarrassment involved with that, too.
