Clay County officials are hosting a “Touch a Truck: What Moves Clay” event on Saturday, Aug. 26. Families are encouraged to attend. The event is free.
“This twist on our free event will bring together everyone and everything that moves Clay - from county departments and services to nonprofits, public safety, county agencies and more,” a county press release said.
There will be dozens of service vehicles for children to see up close as well as food trucks, indoor and outdoor activities, free giveaways and booths from county departments, organizations and other entities to tell Clay County residents what's available to them within the county.
Visitors can view the vehicles during quiet time from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. and they can see them in action during the lights and sounds portion, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
This event will feature service vehicles such as fire trucks and police cars as well as construction vehicles and heavy machinery.
“This is the perfect event for families to ‘touch’ and experience emergency vehicles, and to learn all about the different groups and programs that make our county great,” the press release said.
