The Clay County Commissioners are holding a groundbreaking event for the new roadway, Cathedral Oak Parkway, on Thursday, Aug. 17 at 9 a.m..
County leadership and local lawmakers will join representatives from the construction management group WGI and project engineers during the event.
The groundbreaking event will take place at the corner of County Road 315 and Feedmill Road.
This new 3.3-mile, two-lane roadway will connect drivers to the First Coast Expressway.
Work is anticipated to be completed in early 2025, according to a county press release.
This project falls under the Bonded Transportation Program, which focuses on road enhancement projects in Middleburg, Green Cove Springs and Lake Asbury.
