Clay County roadwork crews are meeting with contractors the week of Jan. 23 to prepare for construction that will begin within the next few weeks along Botany Street (Doctors Inlet) in Middleburg.
The project is to replace the stormwater drainage system on Botany Street just west of Dalby Court, Clay County Public Information Officer Annaleasa Winter said. Work is expected to take up to 90 days to complete.
There will be no lane closures, but flaggers will be present.
Additionally, stormwater system upgrades are anticipated to begin the first week in March on Henley Road in Keystone Heights at the stormwater pond approximately 1,100 feet north of Orchard Walk Lane.
This project involves upgrades to the concrete storm structure and drainage pipes located on the east side of Henley Road.
Both northbound lanes of Henley Road will be closed for construction from just south of Orchard Walk Lane to approximately 1,000 feet north of the construction site, Winter said. The two existing southbound lanes on Henley Road will be temporarily shifted to one northbound and one southbound lane for the entire project.
During construction, the entranceway to Orchard Walk Lane will be closed to traffic and all in and out traffic will be detoured to the south entrance at Plantation Ridge, Winter said. The northbound sidewalk on Henley Road will be diverted but will remain open.
Work is anticipated to take up to three months to complete and will include milling and resurfacing.

This project includes replacing the curb inlets and drainpipes from the intersection of Pine Ridge Parkway and moving them to the south 300 feet on Camp Ridge Lane to improve drainage and prevent flooding, Winter said.
Due to the depth and complexity of this project, the completion date is yet to be determined, she said.
CSX Railroad Maintenance Project (Orange Park, Fleming Island and Green Cove Springs)- CSX is conducting railroad track maintenance work which will involve the closure of several railroad crossings along US 17 and Doctors Lake Drive.
Crossings will be closed anywhere from two to five days, depending on the type of maintenance they are set to receive, Winter said.
Crossings with one-way in and out will be accessible within a 24-hour period. First responders have plans in place to address emergency response at one-way in/out crossings. Work is anticipated to be complete by Jan. 27, Winter said.
Affected crossings are listed from north to south with the approximate closure dates. These dates are highly subject to change with or without notice simply due to many of the unforeseen circumstances that can occur in the field once the work begins, she said.
