Motorist Alert: Roadwork along Hibernia Forest Drive begins this week

A new road project begins in Fleming Island Monday along Hibernia Forest Drive. Crews will be replacing the stormwater cross drains between 907 and 883 and between 762 and 752 Hibernia Forest Drive in Fleming Island.

Work is scheduled to begin the week of Nov. 21 and will include a road closure and detour to Live Oak Lane. Motorists are asked to watch for flaggers, Clay County Public Information Officer Annaleasa Winter said.

The project is anticipated to take up to 14 days to complete.

Roadwork along County Road 218 in Middleburg is anticipated to begin soon as part of the county’s Bonded Transportation Program.

Crews will design and reconstruct the two-lane urban roadway section into four lanes with medians and turn lanes, bike lanes, curbs, gutters and sidewalks on County Road 218 from Cosmos Avenue to Pine Tree Lane.

County projects starting soon:

Bedford Lake Road and Bedford Oak Drive (Keystone Heights) – Milling and resurfacing work on Bedford Lake Road and Bedford Lake Drive is anticipated to start in the next several weeks, Winter said.

Botany Street (Doctors Inlet) – Crews will be replacing the stormwater drainage system including the storm inlets and drainpipes on Botany Street just west of Dalby Court.

Work will be starting in the next several weeks and is anticipated to take up to 90 days to complete. No lane closures are anticipated. Flaggers will be present.

North Ridge Drive (Fleming Island) – Anticipate daytime, single-lane closures on North Ridge Drive from Pine Avenue to the cul-de-sac beginning the week of November 28 for a milling and resurfacing project.

Ongoing County Projects

Aquarius Concourse (Orange Park) - Anticipate daytime, single-lane closures on Aquarius Concourse from Blairmore Boulevard West to Auriga Drive for a combined Clay County Utility Authority utility relocation and county road and drainage improvement project. Work is expected to take 12 months to complete

Camp Ridge Lane (Middleburg) - Crews are making repairs to the drainage structures in the 1300 block of Camp Ridge Lane. The project includes replacing the curb inlets and drainpipes from the intersection of Pine Ridge Parkway to the south 300 feet on Camp Ridge Lane to improve drainage and prevent flooding.

Work began Nov. 1 and is anticipated to take up to 75 days to complete.

Live Oak Lane (Fleming Island) – Anticipate daytime, single-lane closures continuing the week of November 21 for stormwater underdrain replacement on Live Oak Lane between the addresses 906 and 892. Flaggers will be present.

Pine Avenue (Fleming Island) – Anticipate intermittent, alternating lane closures between 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays to Saturdays between Bald Eagle Road and Hibernia Road, and at the intersection of Bald Eagle Road and Eagle Harbor Parkway for sidewalk and pedestrian bridge improvements.

Bridge decks, sidewalks, and approach slabs are complete.

Handrails have been installed and sodding and other miscellaneous work will continue for the next two weeks. Watch for pedestrians in crosswalks.
