What is trust? Trust is one of the foundations of any healthy and happy relationship. Trusting your partner means that you believe they won't intentionally hurt you, let you down, or abandon you. That they will tell you the truth and be honest with their feelings towards you and themselves. That they will be there in the way you need them to be.

Trust is the foundation of every successful relationship. If not, you are obviously not going far in this relationship. The relationship is two-way, and every partner has to contribute equally.

These five types of trust you should trust to have a healthy relationship.

1. You Don't cheat Physically /Emotionally

The first type of trust you need to foster in any relationship is the trust that your partner is not cheating. He doesn't look at others, and they don't flirt with others; they don't sleep around behind your back. If you can't trust your partner, then there is no sense in trying to maintain a stable relationship.

2. You should love one another without hidden motives.

If your love is true, you should be able to trust that your partner loves you for who you are and not for any ulterior motives. You should be able to trust your partner to always have your best interest at heart, even above their own. They aren't going to be with you just because of the wonderful things they get out of the relationship.

3. Do not keep secrets that could destroy the relationship.

Being honest and open with each other is always a must in a healthy relationship. You both have to trust in your partner to be always open and honest with your relationship. That you are won't keep secrets that could damage or destroy the relationship.

4. Trust that they are willing to work on things.

This is the biggest type of trust in a relationship. If you can't trust that your partner is willing to work on the relationship and make it stronger, then no purpose exists for staying together. You should be able to trust that your partner is interested in working on things, not just wallowing in them. They are not just going to sit around and let things get worse all the time. They are willing to do things, sacrifice things, and work on the relationship to make it better.

5. Trust that you both of need each other

Trust is necessary in a relationship. Without trust that your partner is not there for you, there is no reason to stay in the relationship. Trust that they will be there for you, support you, and be your rock in the face of any storm.
