The Annual Daikin Festival Returns to Decatur on May 5, 2023

WHNT News 19 reported that the "annual Daikin Festival offers festivalgoers of all ages an opportunity to experience Japanese culture through live music, games, exhibits, and Asian-inspired food." Festivalgoers always enjoy seeing the Daikin Taiko Drum Team perform, and take part in Japanese Folk dancing. Japanese Yakisoba will be available to eat, which is a stir-fried mix of noodles, beef, cabbage, and carrots. BBQ and other foods and drinks will also be available for free.

Attendees in years past may have received a free souvenir known as a "Happi coat" given out at the event, and Daikin gives out these coats every year to festival goers.

The author has seen the Daikin Taiko Drum Team perform during the annual May Dragon boat races at Point Mallard, and they are very good. Come celebrate Japanese culture and take part in the festivities on this night of family-friendly fun at Point Mallard in Decatur, AL.
