"A great mentor instills an overall love of learning, and teaches a protege how to think and reason in any kind of situation - the greatest skill of all" - Mastery by Robert Greene
Few things make educators more proud than seeing their students succeed. I recently experienced this when one of the residents I coached was recognized by his community in the suburbs of Atlanta.
Michael Gray PT, DPT, OCS has been chosen as the Best Physical Therapist in Cobb County by Cobb Life Magazine's readers. Michael is the clinic Director at PT Solutions at Windy Hill Hospital in Marietta, GA. He is a residency-trained, board-certified orthopaedic specialist who brings empathy and high-quality clinical care to each of his patients.
When you meet him, you may be surprised to discover how young he is. Despite only practicing for 5 years, Michael is already recognized as one of the top clinicians in Atlanta.
Michael started in the Atlanta market to completed his orthopedic residency program, which I happen to be the coordinator of. Upon graduation, he was asked to move to Montgomery, AL to support the local clinics. The Montgomery market did not have any residency graduates in the clinics. Michael was able to influence the clinical culture with his recent experience. It was a growth experience for Michael as well.
Going into an unfamiliar town and taking on a leadership role stretched Michael both personally and professionally. When he returned to the Atlanta market a year later, he was able to draw on his recent experiences to help grow the Windy Hill clinic.
Michael is a great example of the benefits we can gain from a variety of professional experiences. He immediately applied his training to an unfamiliar environment and thrived.
To say I am proud of Michael is an understatement. He represents what every teacher hopes to see in a student's career.
“One repays a teacher badly if one remains only a pupil” – Friedrich Nietzsche
If you live in Atlanta, GA, and are in need of great physical therapy, Michael has you covered.
