Home runs lead the Yankees to a series win over the Royals

40th win! The Yankees take another series and this time in more relaxed fashion as they easily handle the Royals in the rubber game, winning 8-1. Many good things happened on both sides of the ball. Jameson Taillon turned in his best start as a Yankee, allowing just one run over 6.1 innings with six strikeouts. The offense had a great day at the plate as Judge, Voit, and Gary all went deep for home runs. After a three-hit day, Judge is now hitting .286/.384/.514 (.898 OPS) with 16 HR and a 147 wRC+ in 70 games. Scoring: Aaron Judge solo home run (16) Rougned Odor RBI single Aaron Judge RBI single Luke Voit solo home run (3) Gary Sanchez 3-run home run (13) Giancarlo Stanton RBI single Pitching: Taillon: 6.1 IP, 5 H, 1 R, 2 BB, 6 SO Cortes: 2.2 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 2 BB, 5 SO The seemingly hot Yankees now turn the page to a critical weekend set in Boston as they’ll take on the Red Sox in Fenway Park.
