In a horrific incident, a Florida dad drowned his 2-year-old son after stabbing the mother to death. The child's body was later discovered in the mouth of an alligator at a nearby lake.
While little Taylen Mosley's body was found in Lake Maggiore in St. Petersburg, his mom, Pashun Jeffery's body was discovered in an apartment. 21-year-old Thomas Mosley has been charged with 2 counts of first-degree murder of his child and the mom.
Family members became concerned when Pashun Jeffrey failed to answer routine FaceTime calls and asked the manager of the apartment where she had been living to check on her. The manager was shocked to discover what appeared to be a very violent crime scene. Pashun Jeffrey had suffered multiple stab wounds.
The search for the 2-year-old involved dogs, a drone, and federal and state law enforcement agencies. Detectives investigating the case shot and killed an alligator that they noticed had an object in its jaws. It turned out to be the body of the missing toddler as Police Chief Anthony Holloway explains: “We didn’t want to find him this way, but at least we can bring some closure to that family now.”
According to reports, the toddler had been taken and drowned by the father at a lake in Dell Holmes Park which is located around 10 miles from the mom's apartment: "The cause of 2-year-old Taylen Mosley’s death was determined to be a drowning, St. Petersburg police said in a statement, which said they confirmed the drowning with the Pinellas County medical examiner."
